Colloide have gained the Investors in People Health & Wellbeing Award. This award acknowledges our commitment to the physical, physiological and social wellbeing of all our employees. We believe that a happy and healthy workforce leads to positive value in the workplace and we strive to create an environment where employees are empowered to improve, inspire and lead. Initiatives are rolled out on a regular basis highlighting various topics including healthy eating, mental health, wellbeing and exercise. Staff are encouraged to participate in fitness activities at lunch time and management have installed a shower block for those engaging in physical activity. A Safety & Wellbeing Committee has been established to bring workers and management together to promote safety, health and wellbeing in the workplace. Committee members were selected from various departments across the company, so the lines of communication are open in the office and on site.

Recognition and encouragement are two concepts that are endorsed at Colloide. These concepts are reflected this month with Colloide receiving the Gold Investors In People status. Prior to this Colloide had been awarded the silver status in 2015. Colloide are very proud to have upgraded our previous award standing. The Gold accreditation was awarded following a recent audit and interview conducted by our staff, on a number of subjects relating to continuous employee learning and development. Colloide would like to take this moment to thank our staff for the continuous support and commitment they provide.

We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted as finalists in the Health & Safety Category of the 2018 Construction Excellence Awards. The Awards provide an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the construction industry. The Health & Safety award is judged on the following criteria: • Impact of ongoing commitment to health and safety on preventing and reducing injuries and sickness absence • Consideration of the health and safety impacts on the community • Evidence of integration of health and safety within management of the business • Evidence of organisation’s continual improvement • Evidence of managing occupational health, occupational hygiene and wellbeing The Construction Excellence Awards were launched in 1999 and have since become one of the premier events in the Northern Ireland construction calendar. The company is looking forward to the gala event in the Culloden Hotel on the 18th October where the winners will be announced.

Colloide secure new Chemical Dosing Framework with Welsh Water. Under the framework agreement Colloide will supply our standardised chemical dosing products to Welsh Waters Tier 1 contractors including Skanska, Morgan Sindall and MMB. Welsh Water situates as the 6th largest regulated and sewage company, covering Wales and England.
